Brutalist Utopian Alphabet — Photography Studio — OUGD601

No rest for the wicked, as soon as coming back from the Christmas break meant booking a slot in a photography studio with an infinite wall to get the best possible quality images;





This enabled ideal lighting conditions and created some harsh, yet appropriate shadows;



As you can see by this image, the floor was very dirty, however this added to the look so leaving it unedited was best, as it represents the concept much better — Béton Brut — meaning 'raw concrete' was the original term for Brutalism coined by Le Corbusier after all.

However, for the publication, editing some images for the spreads seemed appropriate for the quality oft the outcomes, this effect was achieved by adding a median blur within Photoshop and cancelling out the letters, blurring the dirty floor into one pristine white backdrop;

























Additionally, two small pieces of wood that was improvised to elevate the letter 'L' needed to be edited out to truly represent the original alphabet;
